Gets out of sync
I have a new TV which only has an optical output and a sound system that has a coaxial input. It works for awhile, but after a couple of hours the sounds are slightly off from what I am seeing on the screen.
Mouths move and then a second later you hear the words. I haven't used other types of these so I have nothing to compare it to. It works, but in order to use it for a couple of hours or more, you must reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Didn't have to buy a new receiver
My new TV only have an optical out and my Bose only had a digital in. This saved me from having to buy a new receiver for my surround sound.

Fills a need
Used it to transfer Audio 30ft or so from TV Audio to Audio Receiver. Most TV's only have Toslink outputs. I used this device at the TV to convert to coax for the long run to the Audio receiver. At the receiver end I had a Coax to Toslink converter to supply Toslink to the Audio reveiver.

Saved me from buying a new receiver!
This saved me the cost of a new receiver minus the minimal cost of the device. Easy to use, just plug in the optical from the transmitting device (Plasma TV in my case), plug in coax from the device to the Coax Digital input on the receiver, plug into AC power, and everything works. Perfect. I don't think about it at all.

Great for Bose Products
Great for Bose products, or other devices, with only one TOSlink connection. I have 3 of these adapters on various bose 321 and lifestyle systems. The fidelity is flawless.

Problem Solved!
I do digital recordings of sampled pipe organs using Hauptwerk. I use a Mac Pro (Intel). I needed a way to go from the Mac's digital optical output to a Lexicon Reverb. unit's digital coaxial input so my recordings could be digital all the way. I searched locally, but no one had heard of such an adapter. But, to my surprise and delight, CablesToGo carries such an unusual device.
It works just great. . . exactly what I needed.
Thanks.
