Using USB 2.0 speed and power, this solution provides increased bandwidth and faster data transfer speeds, up to 480Mbps, over standard Cat5/Cat6 cabling at lengths up to 150ft. The included 5V2A DC power supply, which is required to be connected to the receiver unit, provides enough power to operate most new USB devices and allows for flexibility in equipment placement.
Note: If the USB signal is being extended to support a 300 series or 500 series Promethean interactive whiteboard, then we recommend using our product 29338.

Do you recommend T-568A or T-568B for terminating the Cat5/6 cable?
For this particular product you can use either 568A or 568B as long as it is the same on both sides of the cable.

Both receiver and Transmitter unit appear to have a power port. Instruction indicates receiver needs external power (5V/2A). Is it required for the transmitter too? What is the purpose of that second port?
you only need to get power to either the receiver or the transmitter. The other unit will be powered via POC (power over cable) from the unit that has the external power connection.
